Dakshina’s Kitchen was born from a simple conviction: that the bold, layered flavors of South India — the crackle of mustard seeds, the warmth of fresh curry leaves, the tang of tamarind — deserve a home in Seattle.
We cook the way grandmothers cook: with patience, with intention, and with ingredients that honor the regions they come from. Every dish is made fresh, every day, for the people who crave something real.
Based in Capitol Hill’s cloud kitchen, we bring you the taste of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh — straight to your door, or served with care at your next gathering.
What We Cook
A taste of the South
Dosas & Crepes
Crispy, golden, fermented-rice crepes filled with spiced potato masala, sambar, and a trio of fresh chutneys. A South Indian classic, perfected.
Rice & Curries
Slow-simmered gravies — Kerala fish curry, chettinad chicken, dal tadka — served over fragrant basmati or steamed red rice. Comfort in every spoonful.
Idli & Vada
Pillowy steamed rice cakes and golden fried lentil doughnuts, served with sambar and coconut chutney. The quintessential South Indian breakfast, any time of day.
Biryanis
Layered, slow-cooked Hyderabadi-style biryani with whole spices, caramelized onions, and your choice of protein. A celebration in a pot.
Vegetarian Feasts
Vibrant, plant-forward spreads inspired by Kerala Sadhya — kootu, avial, olan, and more — for those who want abundance without compromise.
